What This Covers

FIComics contains three types of content, each with different rights. This page explains the license and attribution for each type.

1. Comic Reference Data

The comic reference metadata — series titles, issue listings, creator names and roles, publisher information, format descriptions, and other curated comic data — is dedicated to the public domain under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal (public-domain dedication).

This means you are free to share and adapt this data for any purpose, without asking permission and without attribution obligations.

2. Cover Images

Cover images are NOT covered by the CC0 dedication.

All comic book cover images displayed on FIComics are the property of their respective copyright holders — the original publishers, artists, and rights owners. Cover images are reproduced here solely for the purpose of identification, archival reference, and scholarly documentation of Finnish comic book publishing history.

FIComics does not claim ownership of any cover image. If you are a rights holder and would like a cover removed, please contact us — takedown requests are honored promptly.

3. Price Data (Huuto.net)

Price data is NOT covered by the CC0 dedication.

Historical price data — auction dates, closing prices, item titles, and descriptions — is sourced from the Huuto.net API.

Huuto.net is owned and operated by ePrice Oy. All content retrieved through the Huuto.net API remains the intellectual property of ePrice Oy and its users, as stated in the Huuto.net API Terms of Use.

FIComics uses this data under the API Terms of Use for non-commercial, reference purposes. The price data is displayed with attribution to Huuto.net as required by their terms, and stored for archival documentation of Finnish comic book market history.

Individual price observations (closing prices, dates) are factual market data not subject to copyright, though the compilation and presentation are attributed to Huuto.net / ePrice Oy.

FIComics is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ePrice Oy or Huuto.net.

4. Attribution Summary

When reusing comic reference data, attribution is appreciated but not required. If you would like to give credit:

  • Comic data: "Data from FIComics (ficomics.com), dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0."
  • Price data: must cite Huuto.net / ePrice Oy as the source. Price data may not be claimed under CC0.
  • Cover images: remain copyright of their respective publishers. Do not republish without permission from the rights holder.
